Discord Webhook
Also known as: Webhook alerts, Discord alerts
A Discord webhook is a URL that lets an external service post messages into a specific Discord channel. Ticket monitors use webhooks to deliver restock and drop alerts straight to a reseller's or group's server.
You create one in the channel's settings (Integrations → Webhooks) and paste the URL into the monitoring service. Every alert then lands in that channel, with whatever details the service includes — event, section, price, quantity and a link to buy.
Using a separate channel per event type or region keeps alerts readable. Treat the webhook URL like a password: anyone who has it can post to your channel.
How to create a Discord webhook, step by step
You need the Manage Webhooks permission on the server, which server owners and admins have by default.
- Open the channel where alerts should appear and click the gear icon to edit it.
- Go to Integrations, then Webhooks, and click New Webhook.
- Give the webhook a name and, optionally, an avatar; this is what each message will show as its sender.
- Click Copy Webhook URL.
- Paste the URL into your monitoring service and send a test message to confirm it works.
How webhook alerts are delivered
When a ticket monitor detects tickets, it sends the alert to the webhook URL. Discord posts it into the channel immediately, usually as an embed: a formatted card with a title, fields such as section, price and quantity, a colour bar and a clickable link.
Discord rate-limits webhooks, so a channel that receives a very large number of alerts in a short time can see them delayed. Splitting busy monitors across several channels and webhooks keeps delivery fast.
Organising channels for ticket alerts
One channel for everything becomes unreadable during a busy on-sale. A common setup is one channel per ticketing site or region, a separate channel for the highest-priority events, and a channel for fan-to-fan resale listings that is muted except for key shows.
Discord's own notification settings then let each person choose which channels push to their phone, so a restock on a priority show is never lost among routine alerts.
Worked example: a three-channel setup for a small team
A team of three resellers runs three channels: #uk-arena for Ticketmaster UK and AXS arena shows, #eu-stadium for European stadium dates on Eventim and Ticketmaster, and #priority for five events they are actively buying. Each has its own webhook.
Monitors for the five priority events post to #priority only, with phone notifications on for everyone. The other channels are checked a few times a day. During an on-sale date, the team sees the alerts they need without scrolling past hundreds of others.
Keeping a webhook URL secure
A webhook URL needs no password: anyone who has it can post to your channel.
- Only paste it into services you trust, and never share it in public channels or screenshots.
- If a URL leaks, delete the webhook in Discord and create a new one; the old URL stops working at once.
- Limit the Manage Webhooks permission to the people who really need it.
- Review the Integrations page from time to time and remove webhooks you no longer use.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Discord webhook URL?
It is a unique address Discord creates for one channel. Any service that sends a message to that address has it posted into the channel, without needing a bot account or logging in to Discord.
Are Discord webhooks free?
Yes. Creating and using webhooks is part of standard Discord and doesn't require Nitro or a paid server. Any server member with the Manage Webhooks permission can set one up.
Can I send ticket alerts to more than one Discord channel?
Yes. Create a webhook in each channel and add each URL to your monitoring service. Eventory lets you route each monitor to a different webhook, so alerts for different events, sites or teams land in the right channel.
Why am I not receiving webhook alerts?
The most common causes are a deleted webhook or channel, a URL copied incompletely, or muted channel notifications. Send a test message from your monitoring service; if it doesn't appear, create a new webhook and update the URL.
