# Ticket market data and availability API

> Live ticket availability, real-time notifications, market data and watchlists for the major ticketing platforms, behind one API key.

Eventory exposes four APIs through a single gateway at `https://api.eventory.ai`.
They share one API key, one error format, and one credit balance, but they answer
different questions.

## The four APIs

> [card] [Notifications API](/docs/stream/overview.md)
>
> A WebSocket that pushes a notification the moment an event on your watchlist
> changes: stock appears, a price drops, a new section opens. **Not included in API plans**: access is granted separately
> to a limited number of partners.

> [card] [Watchlist](/docs/reference/introduction.md#watchlist)
>
> Create, read, update and delete the events you want the Notifications API to watch. **Free**
> with your plan.

> [card] [Live Availability](/docs/reference/introduction.md#live-availability)
>
> Ask for the current inventory of any single event on Ticketmaster, AXS, Eventim,
> StubHub, viagogo and seven more platforms, right now. **5 credits** per call.

> [card] [Market Data](/docs/reference/introduction.md#market-data)
>
> Historical sales, price history, aggregate statistics, artist social metrics and
> full-text search over the Eventory catalog. **1 credit** per call.

## Which one do I need?

| I want to… | Use | Style | Cost |
| - | - | - | - |
| Be told the instant tickets appear or prices move on events I care about | Notifications API + Watchlist | Push (WebSocket) | Partner access only |
| Check what is on sale for one event right now | Live Availability | Request / response | 5 credits |
| Analyse how an event has been selling over days or weeks | Market Data | Request / response | 1 credit |
| Find events by name, artist, venue, country, or sales volume | Market Data (search) | Request / response | 1 credit |
| See how many credits I have left | Account (`/usage`) | Request / response | Free |

The Notifications API and the Live Availability API share the `OfferSections` and
`SeatMapSections` shapes, so a client that parses one can parse the other; the stream also
sends `EventDiscovery` for discovery monitors. See [Section types](/docs/guides/section-types.md).

## What you need to know first

**1. Get a key**

Keys are issued with an Eventory plan. Every request carries it in the `apikey`
header. See [Authentication](/docs/authentication.md).

**2. Know what your key can call**

Each key is granted a set of APIs. The watchlist and `/usage` come with every
plan; Market Data and Live Availability are enabled per account. The
Notifications API is not part of any plan: access is granted separately to a
limited number of partners.
See [Credits & access](/docs/credits-and-access.md).

**3. Make your first call**

`GET /usage` is free, works with any valid key, and tells you your plan and
remaining credits. Start there in the [Quickstart](/docs/quickstart.md).
