# Create a Tracker on an event or artist

> A Tracker watches Eventory's own metrics for an event or an artist and alerts you when a rule you wrote becomes true, such as tickets sold in the last 24 hours above 200, or get-in price below 80. You build it from the same Add Monitor drawer by switching to Eventory data, pick the target, and compose conditions from the metric catalogue with the six comparison operators, joined by AND or OR. Trackers are part of Market Intelligence and deliver by email, or by webhook on the higher tier.

## Before you start

- A Market Intelligence plan on your workspace, with a seat assigned to you.
- The event or artist to track, findable in Eventory's catalog.

## Steps

### 1. Open Add Monitor and switch to Eventory data

On the Watchlist, click Add Monitor and choose Eventory data under Monitor type. The drawer becomes Add tracker: instead of a ticketing site and a URL, it asks which Eventory record to track.

If the tab tells you Market Intelligence is required, your workspace has no plan or your seat has not been assigned yet. Seats are per person and are managed on the Users page.

*Add tracker: Eventory data selected under Monitor type, then Event or artist with the search box.*

### 2. Choose an event tracker or an artist tracker

Under Event or artist, keep All or narrow to Events or Artists, then use the search box, Search by event, artist, ID, or Viagogo ID, and select the record. The drawer shows a summary so you can confirm it is the right one, then Next opens the rule builder.

An event tracker reads the event's market metrics across resale, Ticketmaster and Vivid Seats. An artist tracker reads the social and streaming snapshot and Eventory's scores.

### 3. Build the first condition

A condition is a metric, an operator and a value. Start typing in the metric field to search the catalogue, pick the operator, and type the threshold in Value. Beside the metric a Now chip shows its current value for this event, so you can see how far the threshold is from today.

Where the current value reads No current data, Eventory has not collected that metric for this record yet. A rule on it cannot fire until it has, so prefer a metric that shows a number.

- Operators: Greater than, Greater or equal, Less than, Less or equal, Equals, Does not equal.
- Text metrics, such as genre or career stage, only take Equals and Does not equal.

*Two conditions joined by AND, each with its metric, operator and value. The Now chip beside each metric is its current value; Add condition and Add group extend the rule.*

### 4. Combine conditions and groups

Press Add condition for the next rule and choose the join between them with the AND / OR toggle: AND requires all of them, OR any of them. Add group starts a second group with its own join, so you can express "sold a lot yesterday AND (get-in is low OR listings are piling up)".

Keep the first version of a rule to one or two conditions. A rule that never fires is harder to debug than one that fires too often, and you can tighten it from the alert.

### 5. Choose the delivery and save

Tracker alerts arrive by email on the entry tier and by email or webhook on the broker tier. Pick the delivery, add a note if the rule is not self-explanatory, and press Add tracker.

The Tracker appears on the Watchlist as a row of type Eventory data, with its rule summarised in the Condition column and a run status that tells you when it last evaluated and whether it fired.

## The metric catalogue

Metrics are grouped by the source they come from, and the search matches on the label, so typing "get-in" or "sold 24h" finds every variant.

- Resale (StubHub & viagogo): listings and tickets sold, total and last 24h; listings and tickets available; avg sold price, avg available price, highest sale price, get-in price, min and max listed price, venue capacity.
- Ticketmaster: available stock from the latest scrape; tickets sold and available from the latest stats run; highest, lowest and average available price; average standard, resale and platinum price.
- Vivid Seats: available tickets, price points, avg available price, median price, get-in price, max listed price and listed inventory value, each as the current value, the 24-hour change and the 24-hour percentage change.
- Artist: Spotify followers, monthly listeners and popularity; Instagram, TikTok and YouTube followers; total fans per platform; fanbase, trending and overall scores; genre, sub-genre, country and career stage.

## Trackers and monitors are different things

A monitor watches a ticketing site and reacts within seconds to its stock and prices. A Tracker watches Eventory's collected metrics, which update continuously for resale and in runs for Ticketmaster, and reacts when a rule crosses. Use a monitor to buy; use a Tracker to be told when an event or artist becomes interesting.

Both live in the same Watchlist and the same editor. The Type filter separates them when the table gets long.

## Writing rules that fire

Three habits that keep Trackers useful rather than silent.

- Read the current value before choosing the threshold, and set it where a change would matter, not where it already is.
- Prefer 24-hour and change metrics for "something is happening" rules, and absolute metrics for "the level has been reached" rules.
- Check the run status on the row after the first day. A rule that evaluates but never fires has a threshold problem; one with no data has a metric problem.

## Frequently asked questions

### How often does a Tracker evaluate?

Every time its metrics are refreshed, which is continuous for the resale market and per run for the others. The row's run status shows the last evaluation.

### Why does my rule show No current data?

That metric has not been collected for this event or artist yet, often because the event is not listed on that source. Choose a metric whose current value shows a number.

### Can a Tracker send to Discord?

Trackers deliver by email, and by webhook on the broker tier; a webhook can point at a Discord channel. Live Discord alerts on a ticketing site are monitors.

### Can I reuse a rule on many events?

Save it as a quick filter preset in Settings and apply it when creating the next Tracker. The preset is copied onto each Tracker, so they stay independent afterwards.

### Does a Tracker count against my monitor event limit?

Trackers have their own Market Intelligence limit, separate from the Monitors event limit. The drawer tells you when you reach it.
